astralpage: Trance Trance is the third phase of astral projection-when you become aware that you are slowly losing awareness, you are going into a state of trance. It is normally a pleasant type of experience, and it is definitely a sign that you are focusing well and about to astral project. Falling into a state of trance is something that requires meditation for most people, but some people fall into trance very easily. Because this is a result of learning to meditate and practicing often, it is sometimes a natural state that one reaches. There are some who like to use trance music to reach this state -hence the name. I find the combination of trance and music to be absolutely incredible. Not only does music have a positive effect on trance, but trance has a positive effect on music. ( see Astral Projection - The Experience) In fact, because meditation is related to mindfullness, our senses in general seem to enhance as we begin to develop a sensitivity to energy itself. For me, this opening up on the inside has been a wonderful experience. It has had a number of effects- including helping me develop my relationship with my spirit guide. Although the state of trance is not the state of astral projection, it seems to open that door little by little...helping you make that transition at a rate in which you are comfortable. As you begin to open up this door, life does seem to get a little crazy because you are pulling more psychic energy to you than ever before. If you begin to meditate, and you find yourself falling into trance too easily, it is important to take a break. Falling into trance too easily can be dangerous when you are doing things that require your full attention (driving, etc.). I personally feel that the state of trance is one way in which people find that sublime, spiritual connection that we all desire on some level. Any kind of dancing is a form of trance- because everyone is dancing to the same beat. The beat is actually a vibration that your body's energy will seek to match. When we are all "vibrating" at the same time, we are all in trance. It is like a temporary connection to everyone in the vicinity, and that is what makes it such an incredible experience. If you've ever wondered why some people get addicted to "going to shows" and listening to certain types of music, the answer is that they are going into trance. Even if you listen alone, you are in your own state of trance, learning about your own relationship with your sixth chakra, and this experience can be unendingly fascinating. Typical tools for meditation will also help you in your endeavor of trance. Anything that holds a focus will do. A candle flame works well, a monitor with visuals (circular visual patterns work best). White noise is related to trance, as is the white fuzzy screen on the TV when you have a scrambled TV signal. For purposes of protection, it may help you to envision yourself in a circle of white light. The reason why these things can all potentially work to induce trance is because the trance state is only reached when a person is open and awake, but totally relaxed. As we become more comfortable with more and more people around us all the time, we find ourselves entering into trance more easily. Meanwhile, we are bombarded by images and media of all kinds. As we become more sensitive, but more curious about our fellow humans, we either fall asleep (live unconsciously) or we become dreamers. When we are in trance all the time, that is when reality and dreams become one. It is true that our dreams can become reality. I mean this both figuratively and literally. On one hand, it is figurative in that we can open up to forces of light and be used by that power to succeed in our goals or we can use the power and be destroyed by it. On the other hand, it is literal as well because if we do open up, we will sleep less because we will have more energy, our subconscious will be brought up to the surface, things will get a little weird, and our reality will become like a dream- a sleeper's dream. This can be scary and it brings fear into the equation. For most people, one fearful thought is all it takes send their energy back down to the lower three chakras. This is why astral projection requires a great deal of control. The fear will either send you back down to the lower parts of your energetic field, or you will (potentially) get addicted to it and misuse your energy. The important thing to remember is that if you find yourself overwhelmed with information, or if your trance experiences cause you stress, or if fear ever becomes any kind of an issue for you- it is best to take a break. The projection experience requires total relaxation and focus- fear only makes it more difficult. Back to
